PS5 Update for The Last of Us Part 2

There is a new PS5 update our for The Last of Us Part 2 that lets you play the game in 60 FPS and it’s really something that more older PS4 games need so that they look and play better on PlayStation 5. This PS5 Update comes after Naughty Dog and PlayStation posted on Twitter that it was dropping on May 19th 2021: PlayStation Announcement.

I was so excited about this PS5 Update for the Last of Us Part 2 that I had to cover it on my YouTube channel:

So what’s in the PS5 update? When you boot up The Last of Us Part 2 and go to the video settings, you will now see a toggle that lets you switch between 30 FPS or 60 FPS. If you’re on PS5, it is set to 60 FPS automatically. Now, if you’re on PS4, you can only play on 30 FPS. Doesn’t this make a HUGE difference when playing the game? In my opinion, yes it does. It adds a smoother experience, especially seen when aiming and traveling the map. The water looks smoother and the movements in general and smoother.

There’s a great video with details on this change by Digital Foundry you can check it out here.

What Other Games Should Get a PS5 Update?

The question remains now, what other games should get a PS5 Update? Well, some of the candidates that I can think of right away are Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End, Horizon Zero Dawn, inFAMOUS Second Son, Bloodborne, The Order 1886 (this is a really underrated game in my opinion), those are just a few. Let me know in the comments what games you want to get a PS5 Update for.
